Hope (World Cancer Day Inspired)| Poetry

(This poem was written by me and originally published in an anthology by Radioactive Tuts Blog. It’s been remodelled and edited for this purpose.)

This poem is dedicated to all those going through Cancer and those who know others going though it.

It’s called HOPE!

The gentle breeze caressed her face,

It filled her lungs,

Blew against her bald head,

Against her flat chest,

She breathed in the gentle aroma of Hope.

She had seen and heard enough,

Enough of those who had hoped,

Enough of those who fought and won,

Enough of those who survived,

Can she hope, fight and win?

It was time for her last battle,

Her cage had to rattle,

The deciding goal had to be hers,

99 to 1 she had to take the chance,

She had to hope.

As her chariot quickly wheeled her to the final battle ground,

Her last Chemo,

The gentle breeze caressed her face ,

It filled her lungs,

Blew against her bald head,

Against her flat chest,

And she breathed in the gentle aroma of Hope.

Christ had won her victory.

Cancer wouldn’t hold her down!

…..

Happy World Cancer Day!
